Q: Is it true that VARME KILDEN® Plates, by favouring heat transmission through radiation, take up more space than normal radiators?
A: To give you an idea. In a 14m 2 room (42 m3) the 700x1000x140 cast iron radiator powered at 75°C (ΔT50°C) was replaced by a 700x2000x50 VARME KILDEN® radiant plates® powered at 50°C (ΔT30°C). In relative terms we can say that compared to the radiator that measured 1000mm in height, the VARME KILDEN radiant plates takes up double the height, but let's look at the space, the old radiator protruded about 140mm from the wall while the VARME KILDEN radiant plates only 50mm. In absolute terms we can say that the radiator occupied a volume of 0.098 m3 compared to 0.007 m3 of the VARME KILDEN radiant plates.
Q: Is it true that since VARME KILDEN radiant plates are powered at 55°c they are only suitable for areas where it is not really cold?
A: NO! IN FACT, the opposite is true, in fact since radiation transfers energy to the 4th power of ΔT, while in normal radiators the exchange occurs at the 2nd power, VARME KILDEN radiant plates are more efficient when the climate is harsher.
Q: Is it true that VARME KILDEN radiant panels are expensive?
A: That's not true, they cost as much as normal steel radiators and much less than any other radiant heating technology, but the comfort and savings generated make them the best product in terms of QUALITY/PRICE on the world market. In any case, you can check it yourself by having a Sizing/Offer made, which we remind you are completely free. Q: Is it true that VARME KILDEN® radiant plates are dangerous because they have a large surface area and there is a greater risk of burns?
A: It is not true, in fact the opposite is true as can be clearly seen in the figure below. In fact, with normal convective radiator systems (basically the ones we all generally know) the risks of burns are undeniably higher; in fact, being powered at about 70°C, they can cause partial burns in just over a second of direct contact and serious burns in the event of contact for 10 seconds. The VARME KILDEN radiant plates, working with a supply temperature lower than ΔT30°C, have a surface that does not exceed 50°C, which means that they could cause light burns only with direct and continuous and prolonged contact that exceeds one minute and 40 seconds, while to have serious burns the contact should be continuous and last about one hour and 25 minutes.
Q: Can VARME KILDEN radiant panels work with heat pumps and hybrid systems?
A: YES!, VARME KILDEN radiant panels have been specifically designed to be the most suitable terminal for CONDENSING BOILERS, HEAT PUMPS, HYBRID SYSTEMS ETC.
